“Allahu Akbar!” And it’s Terror at the Louvre

Tension in Paris in the area of the Louvre museum. A soldier opened fire after a jihadist would have tried to attack him with a machete knife. According to police sources, the man would be seriously injured.

Immediately the Interior Ministry through Socials has launched an alert to allow the evacuation of the area and allow the arrival of the security forces.

Initially, the man has tried to access the museum with a bulky backpack. Approaching the entrance, he was stopped by the military and so he extracted his machete, shouting “Allahu Akbar!”. Accustomed to the procedure already seen in too much terrorist attacks, a soldier shot him immediately in the stomach, without loosing time. The area was sealed off by police. The whole area of the museum was evacuated.

As a security measure, after the shooting at the Louvre, the Paris metro station “Palais Royal – Musée du Louvre” on line 7 was closed to the public. This was announced on Twitter by the French Interior Ministry, explaining that “trains run without stopping.”

The Ministry of Interior in the meanwhile has explained his version of the story: “The assailant who this morning tried to attack the security military at the ‘Carrousel du Louvre’ uttered threats (?)” and “a military opened fire to defend himself from the aggression”. Meanwhile, after the investigations of the artificers has not found traces of explosives inside the backpack. Inside the museum at the time of the attack there were about 250 people, as reported by the Ministry, “who have been kept safe in some areas of the museum, following the attack, and will be evacuated in small groups after due verification.” “Apparently the attack occurred this morning against the military at the Louvre museum in Paris has a terroristic nature,” said Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve.

A “second person with suspicious behavior was arrested” after the attack, said the Interior Ministry spokesman, Pierre-Henri Brandet. Meanwhile, the attacker shot in the abdomen was taken to hospital where underwent surgery.
