Thailand, “peaceful” and “tolerant” bombs in resorts. There were also two Italians among those involved in the explosions in Hua Hin. Their conditions are not severe. Meanwhile, a new series of blasts in various cities has caused four deaths and dozens of injured. For the police this has nothing to do with terrorism.
There were also two Italian tourists among the wounded in the double bombing in Hua Hin, one of the major tourist destinations in Thailand. The two wounded would be a boy of 21 years and a 51 year old man. The first was treated in the emergency room for minor injuries and already discharged, while the second, shot in the back by a shell splinter, was urgently operated and will have to stay in hospital for at least a week. His condition is not serious, however. Also the Italian Foreign Ministry has confirmed the wounding of the two.
The witnessing – “I was two meters away by the bomb, near a lady who then died. I was lucky,” said to Ansa the same 51 year old italian man hospitalized. “I was celebrating my birthday. I was outside, turned toward the street. The bar owner called me inside: at that moment the explosion occurred behind me. I knew immediately that I was not in danger of death, but around me broke the panic: crashed glasses, overturned tables, people screaming and running away.”
New explosions – Another series of explosions hit several coastal resorts of Thailand, after the double blast of Hua Hin. A spokesman of the local police spoke of 11 total explosions in 5 different southern provinces. In most cases it was twin explosions: the deads would be four in total. Dozens the injured.
Police: “It has nothing to do with terrorism” – According to the police spokesperson, the series of bomb attacks in various tourist resorts of Thailand is not connected to terrorism but it should be considered “local sabotage limited to few areas.” No claim has arrived at the moment although the most plausible suspects are the Islamic Separatists of South Thailand.
