September 28, 2015, DHAKA, BANGLADESH – In an ambush claimed by ISIS, the NGO operator Cesare Tavella was killed.
November 13 2015, PARIS – ISIS implements a series of unprecedented attacks, leaving at least 130 deaths and over 350 wounded. Terrorists strike near the “Stade de France”, restaurants and bars in the tenth and eleventh arrondissement and the “Bataclan” theater where a concert was going on. Here Solesin Valeria, 28, from Venice, student at the Sorbonne, is killed.
January 15, 2016, OUAGADOUGOU, BURKINA FASO – In an attack against the cafeteria of an Italian (attack claimed by “Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb”) dies Michel Santomenna, 9 year old son of the owner of the bar.
March 3, 2016, SABRATA, LIBYA – Two Italians are killed in Libya during a raid of the Libyan security forces against jihadists. They are Fausto Piano and Salvatore Failla, employees of the construction company Bonatti, kidnapped in July 2015 along with two other Italian Gino Pollicardo and Fausto Calcagno, who instead managed to escape.
March 23, 2016, BRUSSELS – A suicide commando sows terror in the heart of Europe with a series of attacks at Brussels airport and the Maalbeek metro station. Among the 32 victims, is the Italian Patricia Rizzo, an official of the EU.
July 1, 2016, DHAKA, BANGLADESH – A terrorists commando erupts in the restaurant “Holey Artisan Bakery“, near the Italian embassy, taking hostage some customers that will be tragically slaughtered. The final report of the attack will record more than 20 deaths, including 9 Italian: Nadia Benedetti, Adele Puglisi, Claudia Maria D’Antona (her husband Giovanni Boschetti narrowly escaped the attack), Maria Riboli, Simona Monti, Marco Tondat, Cristian Rossi, Claudio Cappelli, Vincenzo D’Allestro.
