Bologna, 14 year old Bangladeshi girl refuses hijab: family shaves off her hair

The girl is a native of Bangladesh and studies at a middle school. The principal promptly informed the police of the aggression.

The teachers of the middle school have seen her get to class with the head completely shaved.

The absence of hair is the symbol of a brutal violence put in place by her parents because the girl refused to wear the Islamic hijab. As reported by the “Resto del Carlino” local newspaper, the principal of the institute of Bologna immediately contacted the police to report the aggression and denounce the parents of the 14 year old bangladeshi girl.

Once again the Islamic commandment of the hijab reaps violence in Italy. This time it happened in Bologna, within the domestic walls of a family originally from Bangladesh. Victim for refusing to dress like a Middle Ages’ Saudi woman, such as ordered by the Quran, is a girl just 14 years old. She and her family lived in Italy for several years and at school she is well liked by everyone. As reported by her teachers to the “Resto del Carlino”, she has also excellent marks.

Her own professors have collected the confession words and the pain of the young girl after her mother and her father cut off all her hair. “What happened to your hair?”, all asked her worried. And she, like a river in spate, spilled the beans, in tears. She told all the horror and the violence.

The principal immediately informed the police, which now will be called to investigate the complaint. “I cannot accept the imposition of the hijab,” said the girl. When her parents have started to impose her to wear the hijab even when she went to school, the girl rebelled and started to take it off as soon as she left the house. When the mother came to know, she decided to punish her shaving her hair to zero (an archaic punishment still rather common in Bangladesh to expose a person to public shame).

From an initial reconstruction seems that the situation at home of the 14 year old was characterized by unbearable psychological pressure. So much that the girl told police she could no longer stay with her family and she is afraid of being sent back to Bangladesh, maybe forced to marry an old man in order to subdue her. Several times the teenager was severely insulted and rebuked by her mother. A fate, that one of the hijab, turned to the sisters too who, however, have always accepted the imposition, adjusting. The parents of the bengali girl, moreover, would ordered her not to talk to the boys and, recently, have forbidden her any relations even with the female friends. Internet and mobile phones too were off limits for her.
