First test drive for the Chinese bus that passes over the cars

Just over a month after the presentation of a scale model in Beijing at a technology fair, Tuesday 3/8 a actual-size model of the “Transit Elevated Bus” made his first tour in the Chinese city of Qinhuangdao.

The futuristic bus called “Transit Elevated Bus” (TEB), which resembles a sort of spaceship able to “embrace” in its path cars, overcome queues and hover from above slowdowns, Tuesday completed successfully its first test. The first full-scale model, built in less than a month, toured the Chinese city of Qinhuangdao.

The prototype can carry up to 300 passengers and travel at about 60-80 km per hour on a pre-drawn path. The bus, which spans two traffic lanes and is electrically powered, is about 22 meters long, 7.8 meters wide and 4.8 meters high. The space it leaves for passing cars under it is about two meters.
