Paris and the tragic night of November 13th

So many words have been spent in this regard. News agencies, newspapers, television news, blogs, social networks ….

To avoid tedious rhetoric, I will avoid personal comments or detailed chronicles. You already had lots. Only a few figures and data I found interesting:

127 deaths (according to other sources 128, 120, 129)

83 serious injuries (according to other sources 99, 80)

300 wounded in total (according to other sources 350)

Attacks launched by about 8 terrorists. During the attacks, six blew themselves up with explosive belts, other two were killed in the course of security forces’ interventions. Many of the attackers were armed with AK47 (“Kalashnikov”).

Among the attackers also a French native and an Arab with French nationality, as well as a woman.

Next to the bodies of the attackers were found a Syrian passport and an Egyptian one. The Syrian terrorist reportedly had entered Europe as a “refugee”. The two terrorists with French nationality were already filed and under surveillance.

7 simultaneous attacks in various parts of the city.

The first attack took place in the “X arrondissement”, in the neighborhood of “kosher restaurants”, and caused the death of a dozen people.

Then the terrorists came to the “XI and XII arrondissement” and opened fire on the audience in the concert hall “Bataclan”, where it was ongoing a rock concert of the US group Eagles of Death Metal, killing at least 80 people by Kalashnikov shots (100 victims according to other sources).

Simultaneous explosions were advised at the Stadium, where it was ongoing the friendly match France-Germany. Out of the “Stade de France” 3 suicide bombers blew themselves up, including the French guy (killing three passersby and making numerous injuries). The stadium was also attended by President Francois Hollande.

Other attacks in various restaurants and public places, including the area called “Little Cambodia” (“Petit Cambodge”).
