Attacked by a crow while walking down the street. Victim a journalist who ended at the “Sant’Eugenio” hospital for treatment. The prognosis indicated on the medical report is seven days for “crow’s pecks in the head”.

It happened on Monday, May 23. It was seven o’clock PM when the reporter traveled by foot in via Elio Vittorini, at the “Eur”. The attack by a big crow was sudden. The bird struck several times in the head causing her injuries for which it was necessary to resort to medical care.

The crows have an excellent memory: it was discovered by a new study conducted by researchers at the University of Washington, according to which these birds can remember who is a threat to them even at a distance of many years (in this case, the face of human beings).

The research team in Seattle has studied over the years the behavior of some crows left free in several sites, after they had been taught how certain human behaviors deemed “dangerous” for them were associated with a special “mask” wore by a subject. During a period of five years, scientists have discovered that the “mask” received an increasingly hostile response by local crows, even by crows unrelated to the experiment.

The crows remember. And teach the revenge to the flock.
