Tulsi: “US must stop funding ISIS”

Her name is Tulsi Gabbard and she is an American Democratic MP, member of the Congress for the state of Hawaii.

Elected for the first time in 2002 (just 21 years), she left her mandate for leaving as volunteer military to Iraq, where she returned for a second mission in 2009: a Catholic and conservative father from Fagatogo (American Samoa) and an Hindu mother.

Gabbard is the first “Samoan” deputy, the first of Hindu faith and the first woman veteran of war in the history of Congress.

For a few weeks she is at the center of violent attacks by the major American media; after all a strange thing, if we consider that the Gabbard belongs to the same party of Hillary Clinton, which is the same party to which the US news mainstream kneels in a systematic way.

A JOURNEY IN SYRIA

What did the American deputy to deserve such hostility?

Simple: a month ago she flew to Syria to see what was really going on there, and met with President Assad, the man who, for the “Washington War Party”, is the new “absolute evil.”

Unsatisfied, she visited Aleppo and Damascus, spoke with religious leaders (Muslims and Christians), aid workers (the real ones, not the friends of the jihadists whom Hollywood offers Oscar awards), members of the opposition and civil society representatives.

“White Helmets” in action

Then she came back and reported what she saw; when Jake Tapper on CNN asked her (a bit disgusted) if she had not “been embarrassed to talk with a bloody dictator” she calmly replied: “If a country is different from another, the first thing to do is talk with its leaders; and whatever judgment you have of Assad, he is the President of Syria.”

She told of her experience in the streets of Damascus talking to the Syrians “who were happy to see an American woman walking in their streets and who have asked me: Why do the US support and arm terrorist groups like Al Qaeda and ISIS which kidnap, rape, torture and kill us, the Syrians? Why the United States help those who carried out the September 11 attacks? And I have not been able to answer them.”

And when the CNN commentator has pointed out, according to script, that the American government helps the “moderate anti-Assad rebels” and not the terrorists, Gabbard countered: “The reality, Jake, is that there are no moderate rebels (…) The strongest groups that act on the ground are Al Qaeda and Isis and all other existing groups fight with them or under them”; and then closed: “We must stop funding these terrorist groups and let the Syrian people to determine their own future… not the United States.”

For this Tulsi Gabbard has filed a bill to Congress (which is also a petition) to prohibit that government funds “be directed to Syrian opposition groups”; denouncing that “CIA is channeling weapons and money through Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar to give direct support to groups like ISIS and Al Qaeda”, which is a shame already known to all.

THE MAINSTREAM ATTACK

Long enough for the lobby of the humanitarian bombs to unleash against her; from that moment Tulsi Gabbard has become for the US media a dangerous defeatist, a friend of a dictator who kills his own people.

From the Washington Post started the accusation of having become the “mouthpiece of Assad in Washington”; then a succession of accusations by other media on how she is a friend of “fascist anti-Semites” and the possible ethical violations of Congress regulations about his meeting with Assad.

Tulsi has not bat an eyelid and continued her battle for truth, isolated in the party. On her website and in public statements she explained that in Syria America is all wrong; the secret US war to overthrow Assad is helping ISIS and Al Qaeda.
