China, Russia and the facts: the real “High speed train” reopen the ancient Silk Road

While Europe is playing building High Speed Trains (“TAV”) to bring goods from Turin to Lyon at supersonic speed (useless and expensive toy for euro-zombie), the Chinese and the Russians show us what the facts are.

From Milan to Beijing by train in 26 hours, for a total of 9710 km. From Turin to Beijing the travel time for the 9838 km that separate the two cities is still 26 hours, minute more minute less.

Welcome to the “New Railway Silky Road”, the Intercontinental railway of the future that will unite the main cities of Europe and Asia via high speed train.

This is the philosophy that inspired the project: if the ancient “Silk Road” was a combination of routes and lines and connected a network of cities in Europe and Asia, today, combining modern technology and connectivity, we can obtain a sort of intercontinental high speed subway.

To date there are 30 large cities that have joined the initiative, with the aim to reach 50 cities by this year. The next meeting is June 3 in Sochi, Russia, where the mayors of Chinese and Russian cities will sign their accession.

Meanwhile Russia and China are being carried out, with a new high speed line Moscow-Beijing and a financing agreement of € 25 billion for the Moscow-Kazan line, which will form a key part of the new railway line of the Silk Road.

But the Chinese do not miss a chance of business even for the less exciting European “TAV”. On April 21 the first containers of the Chinese company Wuhan Asia Logistics Europe arrived in Lyon, after a trip by rail of 11,300 kilometers through China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany and France. A 15-day trip, during which about 20 drivers alternated in steering the train They will give the decisive hand in the construction of the Turin-Lyon line.
