UNESCO “erases” Jewish history from Israel

UNESCO’s decision – adopted under the Palestinian Authority’s solicitation – to stop using the term “Temple Mount” for the mountain dominating Jerusalem and referring from now on to the most sacred site of Judaism with the Muslims terms “al-Haram al-Sharif “and “al-Aqsa” is one of those facts that force us to revise some things that we tend to forget.

In 1967 the Jewish state made a huge concession, almost unthinkable. Left its most sacred site in the hands of another religion, Islam, for which the site is only the third holy place in the world (after Mecca and Medina). The Jewish state surrendered on the right for Jews to pray at “Temple Mount.” The bond of the Jewish people with the “Temple Mount” is as clear as the sunshine. If necessary, however, there are some very important facts that Israel can use to unmask the ridiculous and hypocritical lies of the agency of the United Nations. For hundreds of years, the same Muslim scholars have written in their historical and religious texts that the “Temple of Solomon” – what that today the Muslims label as “al-Mazoum” – was right on the “Temple Mount” in Jerusalem.

The existence of the Temple is also supported by a number of archaeological discoveries in and around the “Temple Mount”, such as the fragment of a Greek inscription from the era of the “Second Temple” between the “Lion’s Gate” and the corner where were played the trumpets to announce the beginning of the “Shabbat” and the other Jewish holidays, found in the excavations along the south wall of the complex. Besides, of course, the Bible, the Mishnah, the Talmud, and a number of other historical sources, Jewish and secular, showing that the “Temple” was right, well, on the “Temple Mount” (yes, it seems silly to repeat). But Unesco does not care about such trifles. So we should ask what else may be able to do who is capable of delete the “Temple Mount” name from their vocabulary.
